Registered bed nights increased 530 percent

In April 2021, 109,000 registered bed nights were recorded in North Ostrobothnia (+532.6 %), of which 108,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 560 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 80 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 530 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (230 nights).

84,700 nights (+718.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 24,500 nights (+254.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 469,000 registered bed nights (+31.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 10,900 (-89.8 %) for foreigners in North Ostrobothnia, in total 480,000 (+3.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 14.0 percent

Total of 780,000 registered bed nights (+310.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 727,000 nights (+319.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 53,100 nights (+216.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of North Ostrobothnia out of total registered bed nights was 14.0 % (+4.9 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 14.8 % and foreign bed nights 2.8 %.

42,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 710 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.7 percent were domestic, and 1.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in North Ostrobothnia on average 2.6 nights (-0.67) and foreigners 2.7 nights (-3.2).
