North Ostrobothnia: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased eight percent
In June 2019, 168,000 bed nights were recorded in North Ostrobothnia (+7.9 %), of which 152,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 16,000 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased eight percent and foreign bed nights increased four percent. In total, bed nights increased eight percent from last year's June.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (4,000 nights).
126,000 nights (+8.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 41,600 nights (+5.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 715,000 bed nights (+0.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 157,000 (+3.7 %) for foreigners in North Ostrobothnia, in total 873,000 (+0.8 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

99,100 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 90.3 percent were domestic, and 9.7 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in North Ostrobothnia on average 1.7 nights (-0.01) and foreigners 1.7 nights (+0.03).

Accommodation sales 6.8 million euro
Registered accommodation sales in June were 6.8 million euro (+687,000).
Registered January-June sales were 41.6 million euro and they increased 2.8 million euro from the previous year.
