51,400 registered bed nights

In June 2020, 51,400 registered bed nights were recorded in North Savonia (-41.7 %), of which 50,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 35 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 88 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 42 percent from last year's June.

39,500 nights (-38.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 11,900 nights (-51.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 213,000 registered bed nights (-40.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 28,300 (-47.6 %) for foreigners in North Savonia, in total 241,000 (-41.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 4.6 percent

Total of 1.1 million registered bed nights (-50.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-36.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 50,900 nights (-91.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of North Savonia out of total registered bed nights was 4.6 % (+0.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.7 % and foreign bed nights 2.7 %.

26,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 46 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.3 percent were domestic, and 1.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in North Savonia on average 1.9 nights (+0.13) and foreigners 3.2 nights (+1.4).

20,300 Russian travelers via eastern border

A total of 20,300 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.

Russian visa applications decreased 99 percent

There was a total of 590 visa applications to Finland made by the Russians. 65.2 percent were done at St. Petersburg's consulate.

Accommodation sales 2.1 million euro

Registered accommodation sales in June were 2.1 million euro (-2.2 million).

Registered January-June sales were 12.7 million euro and they decreased 9.6 million euro from the previous year.
