In December 2020, 32,800 registered bed nights were recorded in North Savonia (-39.7 %), of which 32,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 490 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 33 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 92 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 40 percent from last year's December.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (131 nights).
23,500 nights (-38.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 9,300 nights (-42.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 578,000 registered bed nights (-23.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 37,700 (-65.0 %) for foreigners in North Savonia, in total 616,000 (-29.0 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased two percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. In North Savonia, length of stay in December was on average 1.9 nights and in Finland 2.3 nights (+15.3 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in North Savonia on average 1.9 nights (+6.2 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+18.9 %).
17,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 41 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.7 percent were domestic, and 1.3 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in North Savonia on average 1.9 nights (+0.08) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.26).
