Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 143 percent

In March 2022, 2.3 million registered bed nights were recorded in Norway (+142.9 %), of which 1.8 million nights were spent by domestic visitors and 507,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 111 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 440 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 143 percent from last year's March.

867,000 nights (+198.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 686,000 nights (+125.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 4.0 million registered bed nights (+70.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1.3 million (+313.0 %) for foreigners in Norway, in total 5.3 million (+98.6 %) registered nights.

Length of stay was 2.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 24 percent compared to earlier year. In Norway, length of stay in March was on average 2.1 nights (-23.5 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Norway on average 2.0 nights (-21.7 %) and foreigners 2.6 nights (-29.0 %).

1.1 million tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 220 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 82.8 percent were domestic, and 17.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Norway on average 2.0 nights (-0.68) and foreigners 2.6 nights (-1.1).
