Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 50 percent

In January 2023, 1.8 million registered bed nights were recorded in Norway (+49.9 %), of which 1.3 million nights were spent by domestic visitors and 422,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 52 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 45 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 50 percent from last year's January.

667,000 nights (+62.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 574,000 nights (+44.7 %) by business visitors.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 15 percent compared to earlier year. In Norway, length of stay in January was on average 1.9 nights and in Norway 1.9 nights (-15.3 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Norway on average 1.8 nights and foreigners 2.4 nights .

909,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 77 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 80.6 percent were domestic, and 19.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Norway on average 1.8 nights (-0.3) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-0.57).
