Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 10 percent

In March 2023, 19,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Nyköping (+10.0 %), of which 15,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased four percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 38 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 10 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (340 nights).

5,100 rooms (+16.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 6,500 rooms (+23.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 39,500 registered bed nights (+13.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 10,400 (+42.9 %) for foreigners in Nyköping, in total 49,900 (+18.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.9 million registered bed nights (+4.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (+2.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 747,000 nights (+15.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Nyköping out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay was 1.5 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 14 percent compared to earlier year. In Nyköping, length of stay in March was on average 1.5 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-6.3 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Nyköping on average 1.5 nights (-19.0 %) and foreigners 1.5 nights (+9.9 %).

12,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 28 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 79.3 percent were domestic, and 20.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Nyköping on average 1.5 nights (-0.4) and foreigners 1.5 nights (+0.24).
