Registered bed nights increased 35 percent

In May 2022, 28,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Nyköping (+34.8 %), of which 26,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 50 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 44 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 35 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (600 nights).

6,300 rooms (+72.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,500 rooms (+90.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 81,400 registered bed nights (+49.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 13,300 (+11.6 %) for foreigners in Nyköping, in total 94,700 (+42.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Nyköping out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

19,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 63 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.9 percent were domestic, and 6.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Nyköping on average 1.5 nights (-0.39) and foreigners 1.6 nights (+0.11).
