Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased six percent

In March 2019, 21,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Nyköping (+6.4 %), of which 17,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased five percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 127 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (250 nights).

5,000 rooms (-12.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 6,800 rooms (+9.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 45,700 registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 9,300 (+97.2 %) for foreigners in Nyköping, in total 55,000 (+11.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (-3.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.6 million nights (-1.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 888,000 nights (-12.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Nyköping out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased 13 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 13 percent compared to earlier year. In Nyköping, length of stay in March was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-4.6 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Nyköping on average 1.7 nights (+19.4 %) and foreigners 1.3 nights (-22.2 %).

13,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 77.8 percent were domestic, and 22.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Nyköping on average 1.7 nights (+0.29) and foreigners 1.3 nights (-0.53).
