Registered bed nights increased 31 percent

In January 2022, 11,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Nyköping (+30.6 %), of which 9,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 41 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased five percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 31 percent from last year's January.

2,500 rooms (+24.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 3,400 rooms (+55.9 %) by business visitors.

Total of 2.3 million registered bed nights (+4.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.9 million nights (-4.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 399,000 nights (+105.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Nyköping out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. In Nyköping, length of stay in January was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-36.1 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Nyköping on average 2.0 nights and foreigners 1.6 nights .

6,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 35 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 79.7 percent were domestic, and 20.3 percent were from foreign countries.
