179,000 registered bed nights

In August 2019, 179,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Örebro County (-0.2 %), of which 134,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 45,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased four percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 10 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased less than one percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (14,600 nights).

26,100 rooms (+25.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 29,800 rooms (+11.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 771,000 registered bed nights (+5.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 225,000 (-10.9 %) for foreigners in Örebro County, in total 996,000 (+0.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.9 million registered bed nights (+3.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.1 million nights (+4.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.8 million nights (+3.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Örebro County out of total registered bed nights was 2.0 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.2 % and foreign bed nights 1.6 %.

Length of stay increased three percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. In Örebro County, length of stay in August was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (+0.4 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Örebro County on average 1.9 nights (-1.1 %) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+9.4 %).

86,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 79.2 percent were domestic, and 20.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Örebro County on average 1.9 nights (+0.02) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+0.22).
