Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 18 percent

In March 2019, 14,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Örnsköldsvik (+17.6 %), of which 12,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 21 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased five percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 18 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Finland (320 nights).

3,000 rooms (+12.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,500 rooms (+31.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 37,300 registered bed nights (+27.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,600 (-24.0 %) for foreigners in Örnsköldsvik, in total 41,800 (+18.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (-3.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.6 million nights (-1.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 888,000 nights (-12.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Örnsköldsvik out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased seven percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Örnsköldsvik, length of stay in March was on average 1.5 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-4.6 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Örnsköldsvik on average 1.5 nights (+9.2 %) and foreigners 2.8 nights (+76.6 %).

9,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.3 percent were domestic, and 5.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Örnsköldsvik on average 1.5 nights (+0.03) and foreigners 2.8 nights (+1.4).
