Registered bed nights increased 68 percent

In August 2022, 706,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Oslo (+67.7 %), of which 412,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 294,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 26 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 210 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 68 percent from last year's August.

393,000 nights (+74.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 150,000 nights (+54.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 2.5 million registered bed nights (+93.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1.3 million (+408.9 %) for foreigners in Oslo, in total 3.8 million (+143.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 13.7 percent

Total of 5.2 million registered bed nights (+18.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (-8.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.9 million nights (+129.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Oslo out of total registered bed nights was 13.7 % (+4.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 12.7 % and foreign bed nights 15.3 %.

347,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 76 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 58.2 percent were domestic, and 41.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Oslo on average 2.0 nights (-0.1) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-0.09).

Registered January-August sales were 2.6 billion crowns and they increased 2.0 billion crowns from the previous year.
