Registered bed nights increased 67 percent

In May 2021, 108,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Oslo (+67.4 %), of which 93,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 15,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 71 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 48 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 67 percent from last year's May.

34,600 nights (+33.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 32,200 nights (+2.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 380,000 registered bed nights (-47.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 78,800 (-71.4 %) for foreigners in Oslo, in total 459,000 (-53.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 6.9 percent

Total of 1.6 million registered bed nights (+51.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.5 million nights (+52.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 103,000 nights (+45.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Oslo out of total registered bed nights was 6.9 % (+0.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 6.4 % and foreign bed nights 14.8 %.

44,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 41 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.6 percent were domestic, and 12.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Oslo on average 2.4 nights (+0.47) and foreigners 2.8 nights (-0.38).
