Registered bed nights increased 79 percent

In May 2022, 12,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Østerdalen (+78.7 %), of which 10,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 55 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 8,100 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 79 percent from last year's May.

4,200 nights (+304.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 560 nights (+32.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 51,200 registered bed nights (+57.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,700 (+1,372.9 %) for foreigners in Østerdalen, in total 59,900 (+80.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 2.9 million registered bed nights (+88.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+55.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 663,000 nights (+546.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Østerdalen out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

5,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 129 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 81.3 percent were domestic, and 18.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Østerdalen on average 2.5 nights (-0.5) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-0.55).
