Østerdalen: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered accommodation. All changes are relative to the same period a year ago.
Registered bed nights increased three percent
In August 2022, 41,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Østerdalen (+3.3 %), of which 28,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 13,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 16 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 112 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased three percent from last year's August.
11,200 nights (-4.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 480 nights (-31.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and August, 148,000 registered bed nights (-5.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 46,300 (+317.4 %) for foreigners in Østerdalen, in total 195,000 (+16.1 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 66.4 percent were domestic, and 33.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Østerdalen on average 2.2 nights (+0.16) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+0.17).

Registered January-August sales were 33.4 million crowns and they increased 5.7 million crowns from the previous year.
