285,000 registered bed nights

In August 2022, 285,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Östergötland County (-2.7 %), of which 235,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 49,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 24 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased three percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (22,400 nights).

63,900 rooms (-4.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 40,700 rooms (+29.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 1.3 million registered bed nights (+13.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 206,000 (+71.0 %) for foreigners in Östergötland County, in total 1.5 million (+18.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 3.2 percent

Total of 8.8 million registered bed nights (+5.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.5 million nights (-4.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.3 million nights (+44.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Östergötland County out of total registered bed nights was 3.2 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.6 % and foreign bed nights 2.1 %.

164,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.9 percent were domestic, and 14.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östergötland County on average 1.7 nights (-0.07) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.34).
