86,300 registered bed nights

In March 2018, 86,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Östergötland County (-1.6 %), of which 71,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 15,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased two percent and registered foreign bed nights increased less than one percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased two percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (1,400 nights).

19,100 rooms (+7.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 38,800 rooms (-9.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 190,000 registered bed nights (+4.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 41,100 (+3.5 %) for foreigners in Östergötland County, in total 231,000 (+4.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.7 million registered bed nights (+12.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.7 million nights (+7.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.0 million nights (+32.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Östergötland County out of total registered bed nights was 1.8 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.9 % and foreign bed nights 1.5 %.

Length of stay increased two percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. In Östergötland County, length of stay in March was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (+5.0 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östergötland County on average 1.5 nights (+4.4 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+3.8 %).

54,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 86.9 percent were domestic, and 13.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östergötland County on average 1.5 nights (+0.03) and foreigners 2.1 nights (0.0).
