Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased one percent

In June 2018, 231,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Östergötland County (+0.7 %), of which 183,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 48,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased two percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased four percent. In total, registered bed nights increased one percent from last year's June.

39,500 rooms (+1.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 36,900 rooms (+1.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 608,000 registered bed nights (+3.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 133,000 (+4.3 %) for foreigners in Östergötland County, in total 741,000 (+3.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 3.5 percent

Total of 6.6 million registered bed nights (+3.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.7 million nights (+2.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.0 million nights (+4.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Östergötland County out of total registered bed nights was 3.5 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.9 % and foreign bed nights 2.5 %.

Length of stay increased three percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. In Östergötland County, length of stay in June was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (+0.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östergötland County on average 1.7 nights (+3.1 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+3.0 %).

132,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 82.5 percent were domestic, and 17.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östergötland County on average 1.7 nights (+0.05) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.06).
