149,000 registered bed nights

In June 2020, 149,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Östergötland County (-38.1 %), of which 141,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 8,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 27 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 83 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 38 percent from last year's June.

27,000 rooms (-43.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 18,600 rooms (-51.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 472,000 registered bed nights (-26.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 43,800 (-64.4 %) for foreigners in Östergötland County, in total 516,000 (-32.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.7 million registered bed nights (-48.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (-32.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 259,000 nights (-87.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Östergötland County out of total registered bed nights was 4.1 % (+0.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.2 % and foreign bed nights 3.1 %.

Length of stay increased eight percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. In Östergötland County, length of stay in June was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (+13.0 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östergötland County on average 1.9 nights (+12.4 %) and foreigners 3.2 nights (+49.9 %).

75,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 43 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.7 percent were domestic, and 3.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östergötland County on average 1.9 nights (+0.15) and foreigners 3.2 nights (+1.2).
