121,000 registered bed nights

In September 2020, 121,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Östergötland County (-12.6 %), of which 106,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 14,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 10 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 30 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 13 percent from last year's September.

31,500 rooms (-12.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 37,000 rooms (-27.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 1.1 million registered bed nights (-14.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 89,500 (-69.3 %) for foreigners in Östergötland County, in total 1.2 million (-24.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-30.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-20.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 436,000 nights (-62.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Östergötland County out of total registered bed nights was 3.9 % (+0.8 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.0 % and foreign bed nights 3.4 %.

Length of stay increased nine percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Östergötland County, length of stay in September was on average 1.7 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (+4.9 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östergötland County on average 1.6 nights (+9.4 %) and foreigners 3.4 nights (+38.3 %).

70,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 20 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.9 percent were domestic, and 6.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östergötland County on average 1.6 nights (+0.11) and foreigners 3.4 nights (+1.2).
