In January 2021, 40,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Östergötland County (-49.3 %), of which 36,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 48 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 58 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 49 percent from last year's January.

11,700 rooms (-34.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 14,500 rooms (-61.8 %) by business visitors.

Total of 2.2 million registered bed nights (-42.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.0 million nights (-33.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 195,000 nights (-75.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Östergötland County out of total registered bed nights was 1.8 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.8 % and foreign bed nights 2.0 %.

Length of stay increased 21 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 21 percent compared to earlier year. In Östergötland County, length of stay in January was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 3.4 nights (+45.2 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östergötland County on average 2.0 nights and foreigners 3.1 nights .

19,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 58 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.8 percent were domestic, and 6.2 percent were from foreign countries.
