Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 81 percent

In April 2021, 76,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Östergötland County (+80.5 %), of which 70,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 82 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 64 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 81 percent from last year's April.

21,000 rooms (+145.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 22,900 rooms (+50.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 205,000 registered bed nights (-16.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 20,500 (-33.3 %) for foreigners in Östergötland County, in total 225,000 (-18.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 3.0 percent

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 219,000 nights (+91.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Östergötland County out of total registered bed nights was 3.0 % (-0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.0 % and foreign bed nights 2.7 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Östergötland County, length of stay in April was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 2.5 nights (+1.3 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östergötland County on average 1.7 nights (+7.6 %) and foreigners 3.5 nights (+21.6 %).

43,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 99 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.1 percent were domestic, and 3.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östergötland County on average 1.7 nights (-0.15) and foreigners 3.5 nights (-1.3).
