Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 42 percent

In January 2022, 57,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Östergötland County (+41.5 %), of which 51,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 40 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 52 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 42 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Netherlands (780 nights).

17,500 rooms (+49.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 19,800 rooms (+36.8 %) by business visitors.

Total of 2.3 million registered bed nights (+4.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.9 million nights (-4.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 399,000 nights (+105.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Östergötland County out of total registered bed nights was 2.5 % (+0.6 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.7 % and foreign bed nights 1.5 %.

Length of stay was 1.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 21 percent compared to earlier year. In Östergötland County, length of stay in January was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-36.1 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östergötland County on average 1.6 nights and foreigners 2.6 nights .

35,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 79 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.6 percent were domestic, and 6.4 percent were from foreign countries.
