Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 79 percent

In March 2022, 101,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Östergötland County (+78.6 %), of which 92,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 9,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 82 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 52 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 79 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (1,400 nights).

26,700 rooms (+65.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 42,600 rooms (+113.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 210,000 registered bed nights (+55.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 21,600 (+47.9 %) for foreigners in Östergötland County, in total 231,000 (+55.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.7 million registered bed nights (+28.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.1 million nights (+15.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 645,000 nights (+195.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Östergötland County out of total registered bed nights was 2.7 % (+0.8 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.0 % and foreign bed nights 1.4 %.

Length of stay was 1.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 19 percent compared to earlier year. In Östergötland County, length of stay in March was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (-38.6 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östergötland County on average 1.5 nights (-18.4 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-25.5 %).

63,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 121 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.0 percent were domestic, and 6.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östergötland County on average 1.5 nights (-0.31) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-1.7).
