Registered bed nights increased 119 percent

In December 2021, 23,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Östersund (+119.4 %), of which 19,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 99 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 330 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 119 percent from last year's December.

5,500 rooms (+83.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,600 rooms (+147.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 289,000 registered bed nights (+26.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 50,000 (+53.4 %) for foreigners in Östersund, in total 339,000 (+29.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.7 percent

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+85.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.8 million nights (+74.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 553,000 nights (+166.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Östersund out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

10,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 98 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.7 percent were domestic, and 14.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östersund on average 2.1 nights (+0.16) and foreigners 2.6 nights (+0.38).
