Registered bed nights increased 40 percent

In September 2021, 31,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Östersund (+40.1 %), of which 27,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 41 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 37 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 40 percent from last year's September.

6,100 rooms (+36.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 12,100 rooms (+41.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 222,000 registered bed nights (+17.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 34,200 (+32.2 %) for foreigners in Östersund, in total 256,000 (+19.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+24.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 723,000 nights (+65.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Östersund out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

17,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 38 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 86.8 percent were domestic, and 13.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östersund on average 1.9 nights (+0.07) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.36).
