Registered bed nights increased 110 percent

In April 2021, 13,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Östersund (+109.8 %), of which 12,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 890 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 112 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 80 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 110 percent from last year's April.

3,100 rooms (+157.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 4,800 rooms (+62.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 55,500 registered bed nights (-15.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,800 (-59.7 %) for foreigners in Östersund, in total 61,300 (-23.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (+90.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Östersund out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

7,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 109 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.5 percent were domestic, and 6.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östersund on average 1.8 nights (+0.07) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-1.4).
