107,000 registered bed nights

In July 2019, 107,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Östersund (-1.0 %), of which 46,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 61,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased three percent and registered foreign bed nights increased one percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased one percent from last year's July.

17,100 rooms (+21.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 9,100 rooms (+0.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and July, 180,000 registered bed nights (-4.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 120,000 (+10.3 %) for foreigners in Östersund, in total 300,000 (+1.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 13.5 million registered bed nights (+5.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 9.3 million nights (+4.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 4.2 million nights (+5.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Östersund out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 1.4 %.

Length of stay increased six percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. In Östersund, length of stay in July was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (+0.3 %).

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östersund on average 1.8 nights (+4.3 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+12.3 %).

52,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 47.8 percent were domestic, and 52.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östersund on average 1.8 nights (+0.13) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+0.08).
