Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 41 percent

In June 2021, 25,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Östersund (+41.2 %), of which 24,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 41 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 48 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 41 percent from last year's June.

5,300 rooms (+51.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,000 rooms (+53.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 94,600 registered bed nights (+2.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,500 (-47.9 %) for foreigners in Östersund, in total 103,000 (-5.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.9 million registered bed nights (+34.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.5 million nights (+31.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 455,000 nights (+76.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Östersund out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Östersund, length of stay in June was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-5.5 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östersund on average 1.8 nights (+0.8 %) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-9.4 %).

14,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 52 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.4 percent were domestic, and 8.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östersund on average 1.8 nights (-0.11) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-0.37).
