Registered bed nights increased 57 percent
In August 2021, 48,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Östersund (+57.0 %), of which 39,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 8,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 41 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 220 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 57 percent from last year's August.
10,800 rooms (+64.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 9,300 rooms (+35.6 %) by business visitors.
Between January and August, 195,000 registered bed nights (+15.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 30,100 (+31.6 %) for foreigners in Östersund, in total 225,000 (+17.2 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels, campsites, and commercially arranged rentals in private cottages and apartments. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.
