Registered bed nights increased 26 percent
In October 2021, 30,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Östersund (+26.3 %), of which 24,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 23 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 40 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 26 percent from last year's October.
7,000 rooms (+25.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 12,000 rooms (+56.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and October, 247,000 registered bed nights (+18.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 40,100 (+33.3 %) for foreigners in Östersund, in total 287,000 (+20.2 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels, campsites, and commercially arranged rentals in private cottages and apartments. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 49 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 80.6 percent were domestic, and 19.4 percent were from foreign countries.
During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östersund on average 1.7 nights (-0.11) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-2.2).
