Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 17 percent

In September 2019, 7,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Östhammar (+16.9 %), of which 6,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 490 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 16 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 31 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 17 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Poland (125 nights).

920 rooms (-8.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,700 rooms (+2.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 123,000 registered bed nights (+2.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,400 (+35.0 %) for foreigners in Östhammar, in total 128,000 (+3.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (-1.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Östhammar out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased less than one percent compared to earlier year. In Östhammar, length of stay in September was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-1.3 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östhammar on average 2.1 nights (+1.4 %) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+20.5 %).

3,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 16 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.1 percent were domestic, and 5.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Östhammar on average 2.1 nights (0.0) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+0.16).
