17,900 registered bed nights

In September 2020, 17,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Ostrobothnia (-32.3 %), of which 16,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 18 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 74 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 32 percent from last year's September.

8,600 nights (-13.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 9,300 nights (-43.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 186,000 registered bed nights (-15.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 23,200 (-66.2 %) for foreigners in Ostrobothnia, in total 209,000 (-27.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.4 percent

Total of 1.2 million registered bed nights (-32.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-12.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 92,200 nights (-82.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ostrobothnia out of total registered bed nights was 1.4 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.4 % and foreign bed nights 1.9 %.

11,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 34 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.8 percent were domestic, and 6.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ostrobothnia on average 1.5 nights (+0.11) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+0.47).

Registered accommodation sales in September were 1.2 million euro (-732,000).

Registered January-September sales were 10.9 million euro and they decreased 6.0 million euro from the previous year.
