Registered bed nights increased 210 percent

In April 2021, 10,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Ostrobothnia (+211.0 %), of which 9,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 193 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 530 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 210 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (123 nights).

3,200 nights (+205.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 7,400 nights (+213.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 35,400 registered bed nights (-24.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,700 (-65.8 %) for foreigners in Ostrobothnia, in total 39,000 (-31.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.4 percent

Total of 780,000 registered bed nights (+310.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 727,000 nights (+319.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 53,100 nights (+216.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ostrobothnia out of total registered bed nights was 1.4 % (-0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.3 % and foreign bed nights 2.2 %.

5,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 230 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.0 percent were domestic, and 6.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ostrobothnia on average 1.9 nights (-0.23) and foreigners 3.7 nights (+1.8).
