3,400 registered bed nights

In April 2020, 3,400 bed nights were recorded in Ostrobothnia (-86.9 %), of which 3,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 185 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 85 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 96 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 87 percent from last year's April.

1,000 nights (-92.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,400 nights (-81.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 46,600 bed nights (-38.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 10,800 (-37.1 %) for foreigners in Ostrobothnia, in total 57,400 (-38.4 %) nights.

Market share 1.8 percent

Total of 190,000 bed nights (-88.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 173,000 nights (-85.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 16,800 nights (-95.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ostrobothnia out of total bed nights was 1.8 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.9 % and foreign bed nights 1.1 %.

1,600 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 89 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 93.8 percent were domestic, and 6.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ostrobothnia on average 2.1 nights (+0.46) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.36).

Registered accommodation sales in April were 256,000 euro (-1.2 million).

Registered January-April sales were 4.1 million euro and they decreased 2.1 million euro from the previous year.
