In December 2018, 18,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Ostrobothnia (-4.7 %), of which 15,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased two percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 14 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased five percent from last year's December.
7,500 nights (+4.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 10,600 nights (-10.2 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 264,000 registered bed nights (-2.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 84,700 (+0.3 %) for foreigners in Ostrobothnia, in total 348,000 (-2.1 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased one percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. In Ostrobothnia, length of stay in December was on average 1.5 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+1.4 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ostrobothnia on average 1.4 nights (+0.5 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+3.0 %).
11,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.0 percent were domestic, and 13.0 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ostrobothnia on average 1.4 nights (+0.02) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+0.07).
