34,600 registered bed nights

In August 2020, 34,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Ostrobothnia (-11.0 %), of which 31,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 14 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 73 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 11 percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (560 nights).

24,700 nights (+7.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 9,900 nights (-37.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 170,000 registered bed nights (-15.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 21,400 (-65.3 %) for foreigners in Ostrobothnia, in total 191,000 (-26.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.1 percent

Total of 1.7 million registered bed nights (-30.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.5 million nights (-6.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 149,000 nights (-81.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ostrobothnia out of total registered bed nights was 2.1 % (+0.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.1 % and foreign bed nights 2.1 %.

24,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.0 percent were domestic, and 7.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ostrobothnia on average 1.4 nights (+0.01) and foreigners 1.8 nights (+0.12).

Registered accommodation sales in August were 1.6 million euro (-516,000).

Registered January-August sales were 9.7 million euro and they decreased 5.2 million euro from the previous year.
