13,900 registered bed nights

In October 2020, 13,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Ostrobothnia (-52.9 %), of which 12,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 48 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 73 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 53 percent from last year's October.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (310 nights).

4,800 nights (-53.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 9,100 nights (-52.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 198,000 registered bed nights (-18.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 24,700 (-66.7 %) for foreigners in Ostrobothnia, in total 223,000 (-29.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.2 percent

Total of 1.1 million registered bed nights (-32.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.0 million nights (-15.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 80,200 nights (-81.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ostrobothnia out of total registered bed nights was 1.2 % (-0.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 1.9 %.

6,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 64 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.6 percent were domestic, and 7.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ostrobothnia on average 2.1 nights (+0.53) and foreigners 3.4 nights (+1.1).
