9,500 registered bed nights

In March 2021, 9,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Ostrobothnia (-24.2 %), of which 8,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 920 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 16 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 60 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 24 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (173 nights).

3,200 nights (-24.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6,300 nights (-24.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 26,000 registered bed nights (-40.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,500 (-76.3 %) for foreigners in Ostrobothnia, in total 28,500 (-47.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.1 percent

Total of 863,000 registered bed nights (-13.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 816,000 nights (+11.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 47,100 nights (-82.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ostrobothnia out of total registered bed nights was 1.1 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 1.9 %.

Length of stay increased 23 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 23 percent compared to earlier year. In Ostrobothnia, length of stay in March was on average 2.0 nights and in Finland 2.7 nights (+16.1 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ostrobothnia on average 1.9 nights (+20.8 %) and foreigners 3.8 nights (+63.1 %).

4,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 38 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.9 percent were domestic, and 5.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ostrobothnia on average 1.9 nights (+0.38) and foreigners 3.8 nights (+1.4).
