Other North Ostrobothnia: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased 15 percent
In March 2019, 4,400 bed nights were recorded in Other North Ostrobothnia (+15.2 %), of which 2,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,200 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 19 percent and foreign bed nights increased 12 percent. In total, bed nights increased 15 percent from last year's March.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (1,200 nights).
3,800 nights (+6.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 570 nights (+145.3 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 4,200 bed nights (+11.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,500 (+12.8 %) for foreigners in Other North Ostrobothnia, in total 10,700 (+12.2 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Total of 1.9 million bed nights (-2.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (-2.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 566,000 nights (-1.4 %) by foreigners.
The market share of Other North Ostrobothnia out of total bed nights was 0.2 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.
1,900 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 25 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 70.1 percent were domestic, and 29.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Other North Ostrobothnia on average 1.6 nights (+0.01) and foreigners 4.0 nights (-1.3).

Registered January-March sales were 608,000 euro and they increased 94,400 euro from the previous year.
