Other North Ostrobothnia: Tourism in a nutshell

Paid bed nights
Registered bed nights increased 10 percent
In February 2023, 3,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Other North Ostrobothnia (+10.4 %), of which 1,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 15 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased eight percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 10 percent from last year's February.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (1,200 nights).
2,500 nights (+2.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 730 nights (+52.4 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 2,200 registered bed nights (+24.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,600 (-1.7 %) for foreigners in Other North Ostrobothnia, in total 5,800 (+6.8 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased seven percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Other North Ostrobothnia, length of stay in February was on average 4.7 nights and in Finland 2.1 nights (-8.5 %).
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Other North Ostrobothnia on average 3.1 nights (+18.0 %) and foreigners 6.7 nights (+17.6 %).
700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 55.5 percent were domestic, and 44.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Other North Ostrobothnia on average 3.1 nights (+0.35) and foreigners 6.7 nights (+0.16).
