420 registered bed nights

In May 2020, 420 bed nights were recorded in Other Ostrobothnia (-50.9 %), of which 290 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 133 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 63 percent and foreign bed nights increased 77 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 51 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (52 nights).

260 nights (-45.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 167 nights (-57.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 1,200 bed nights (-7.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 310 (-48.1 %) for foreigners in Other Ostrobothnia, in total 1,500 (-28.6 %) nights.

Market share 0.1 percent

Total of 300,000 bed nights (-81.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 280,000 nights (-74.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 19,500 nights (-95.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Other Ostrobothnia out of total bed nights was 0.1 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

280 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 61 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 92.5 percent were domestic, and 7.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Other Ostrobothnia on average 1.1 nights (-0.07) and foreigners 6.3 nights (+4.8).
