Paid bed nights

3,000 registered bed nights

In March 2023, 3,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Other South Ostrobothnia (-2.1 %), of which 2,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 82 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 75 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased two percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (23 nights).

1,900 nights (+6.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,100 nights (-15.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 6,600 registered bed nights (+16.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 250 (-58.9 %) for foreigners in Other South Ostrobothnia, in total 6,800 (+9.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.9 million registered bed nights (+7.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.4 million nights (+2.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 484,000 nights (+27.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Other South Ostrobothnia out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

Length of stay was 2.0 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 16 percent compared to earlier year. In Other South Ostrobothnia, length of stay in March was on average 2.0 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-6.0 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Other South Ostrobothnia on average 2.0 nights (-13.8 %) and foreigners 2.8 nights (-71.1 %).

1,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 17 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.1 percent were domestic, and 1.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Other South Ostrobothnia on average 2.0 nights (-0.19) and foreigners 2.8 nights (-8.6).
