Registered bed nights increased nine percent
In December 2019, 2,600 bed nights were recorded in Other South Ostrobothnia (+9.0 %), of which 2,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 123 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased six percent and foreign bed nights increased 173 percent. In total, bed nights increased nine percent from last year's December.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (49 nights).
1,800 nights (-1.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 810 nights (+43.8 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 52,500 bed nights (+11.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,500 (+12.0 %) for foreigners in Other South Ostrobothnia, in total 56,100 (+11.9 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

1,500 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 16 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 95.0 percent were domestic, and 5.0 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Other South Ostrobothnia on average 1.8 nights (-0.12) and foreigners 1.6 nights (+0.23).

Registered accommodation sales in December were 115,000 euro (+13,600).
Registered January-December sales were 2.1 million euro and they increased 79,300 euro from the previous year.
