3,400 registered bed nights

In September 2018, 3,400 bed nights were recorded in Other South Ostrobothnia (-36.7 %), of which 3,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 350 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 28 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 88 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 37 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Austria (63 nights).

2,700 nights (+84.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 680 nights (-82.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 39,900 bed nights (+33.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,400 (-52.2 %) for foreigners in Other South Ostrobothnia, in total 42,400 (+20.5 %) nights.

Market share 0.2 percent

Total of 1.7 million bed nights (-1.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (-0.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 464,000 nights (-5.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Other South Ostrobothnia out of total bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

1,900 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 91.5 percent were domestic, and 8.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Other South Ostrobothnia on average 1.7 nights (+0.31) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-14).

Registered accommodation sales in September were 180,000 euro (+15,600).

Registered January-September sales were 1.6 million euro and they increased 268,000 euro from the previous year.
