Registered bed nights increased 300 percent
In May 2021, 2,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Other South Ostrobothnia (+296.9 %), of which 2,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 320 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 330 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 140 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 300 percent from last year's May.
1,800 nights (+576.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,100 nights (+133.3 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 8,200 registered bed nights (-13.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 910 (+7.9 %) for foreigners in Other South Ostrobothnia, in total 9,100 (-12.1 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 480 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.5 percent were domestic, and 0.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Other South Ostrobothnia on average 1.9 nights (-0.61) and foreigners 46 nights.
