Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 46 percent

In December 2021, 2,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Other South Ostrobothnia (+45.8 %), of which 2,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 58 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 50 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 31 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 46 percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Lithuania (18 nights).

1,500 nights (+48.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 670 nights (+40.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 52,100 registered bed nights (+24.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,300 (+60.7 %) for foreigners in Other South Ostrobothnia, in total 56,400 (+26.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.1 percent

Total of 1.6 million registered bed nights (+109.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.0 million nights (+44.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 593,000 nights (+823.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Other South Ostrobothnia out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

Length of stay was 2.5 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Other South Ostrobothnia, length of stay in December was on average 2.5 nights and in Finland 2.2 nights (-5.9 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Other South Ostrobothnia on average 2.5 nights (-2.4 %) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+84.0 %).

860 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 57 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.7 percent were domestic, and 2.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Other South Ostrobothnia on average 2.5 nights (-0.1) and foreigners 2.9 nights (-4.1).
