In May 2019, 4,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Other Southwest Finland (-7.2 %), of which 4,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 450 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 10 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 23 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased seven percent from last year's May.
2,500 nights (+9.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,100 nights (-21.6 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 12,800 registered bed nights (-4.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,100 (-48.5 %) for foreigners in Other Southwest Finland, in total 14,900 (-14.8 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased 41 percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 41 percent compared to earlier year. In Other Southwest Finland, length of stay in May was on average 2.3 nights and in Finland 1.8 nights (+2.1 %).
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Other Southwest Finland on average 2.2 nights (+17.5 %) and foreigners 3.9 nights (+88.3 %).
2,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 34 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.4 percent were domestic, and 5.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Other Southwest Finland on average 2.2 nights (+0.6) and foreigners 3.9 nights (+1.6).
