Registered bed nights increased 320 percent (April)

In April 2021, 26,300 bed nights were recorded in Oulu (+322.9 %), of which 25,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 730 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 330 percent and foreign bed nights increased 240 percent. In total, bed nights increased 320 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (137 nights).

15,900 nights (+350.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 10,400 nights (+286.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 110,000 bed nights (-1.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,500 (-72.5 %) for foreigners in Oulu, in total 115,000 (-12.5 %) nights.

Market share 3.4 percent (April)

Total of 779,000 bed nights (+309.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 726,000 nights (+319.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 52,500 nights (+212.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Oulu out of total bed nights was 3.4 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.5 % and foreign bed nights 1.4 %.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 700 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 97.8 percent were domestic, and 2.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Oulu on average 1.6 nights (-1.5) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.72).

6,500 air travelers

The airport received a total of 6,500 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 250 percent.

Of local passengers, 0.0 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 100.0 %.

In addition, there were 6,600 passengers departing the airport (+223.2 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 13,200 (+235.1 %).
