27,600 registered bed nights (January)

In January 2021, 27,600 bed nights were recorded in Oulu (-40.6 %), of which 25,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,300 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 31 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 77 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 41 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Poland (920 nights).

13,800 nights (-37.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 13,800 nights (-43.2 %) by business visitors.

Market share 4.1 percent (January)

Total of 681,000 bed nights (-59.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 629,000 nights (-34.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 52,000 nights (-92.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Oulu out of total bed nights was 4.1 % (+1.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.0 % and foreign bed nights 4.4 %.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 48 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 95.5 percent were domestic, and 4.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Oulu on average 1.8 nights (+0.22) and foreigners 3.4 nights (+1.6).
