Registered bed nights increased 11 percent (November)

In November 2021, 43,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Oulu (+11.3 %), of which 39,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 18 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 32 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 11 percent from last year's November.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (630 nights).

21,100 nights (+50.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 22,100 nights (-10.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 464,000 registered bed nights (+21.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 31,100 (-52.3 %) for foreigners in Oulu, in total 495,000 (+10.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 3.1 percent (November)

Total of 1.4 million registered bed nights (+70.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (+52.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 279,000 nights (+221.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Oulu out of total registered bed nights was 3.1 % (-1.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.6 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

26,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (November)

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 53 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.5 percent were domestic, and 5.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Oulu on average 1.6 nights (-0.44) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-6.2).

21,000 air travelers

The airport received a total of 21,000 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 270 percent.

Of local passengers, 5.3 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 94.7 %.

In addition, there were 20,100 passengers departing the airport (+288.2 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 41,100 (+279.4 %).
