Registered bed nights increased 28 percent (August)

In August 2021, 55,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Päijät-Häme (+28.0 %), of which 52,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 27 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 58 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 28 percent from last year's August.

41,200 nights (+24.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 14,600 nights (+40.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 275,000 registered bed nights (+21.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 17,300 (-31.2 %) for foreigners in Päijät-Häme, in total 293,000 (+16.1 %) registered nights.

Registered bed nights increased 28 percent (August, Lahti)

In August 2021, 21,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Lahti (+27.8 %), of which 19,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 27 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 44 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 28 percent from last year's August.

8,700 nights (+31.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 12,300 nights (+25.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 102,000 registered bed nights (+24.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 12,100 (-25.5 %) for foreigners in Lahti, in total 114,000 (+16.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.7 percent (August)

Total of 2.1 million registered bed nights (+23.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.8 million nights (+17.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 264,000 nights (+77.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Päijät-Häme out of total registered bed nights was 2.7 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.9 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

29,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (August)

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 32 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.4 percent were domestic, and 4.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Päijät-Häme on average 1.9 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+0.61).
