Registered bed nights increased 156 percent (May)

In May 2021, 29,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Päijät-Häme (+156.2 %), of which 27,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 154 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 210 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 156 percent from last year's May.

20,000 nights (+162.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 9,100 nights (+143.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 93,400 registered bed nights (-6.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,000 (-60.4 %) for foreigners in Päijät-Häme, in total 101,000 (-15.2 %) registered nights.

Registered bed nights increased 300 percent (May, Lahti)

In May 2021, 12,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Lahti (+302.9 %), of which 11,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 630 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 300 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 280 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 300 percent from last year's May.

4,400 nights (+606.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 7,800 nights (+224.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 35,600 registered bed nights (-16.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,600 (-51.3 %) for foreigners in Lahti, in total 42,100 (-24.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 3.4 percent (May)

Total of 850,000 registered bed nights (+183.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 779,000 nights (+177.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 71,600 nights (+266.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Päijät-Häme out of total registered bed nights was 3.4 % (-0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.6 % and foreign bed nights 1.7 %.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 169 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.8 percent were domestic, and 3.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Päijät-Häme on average 2.2 nights (-0.13) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+0.5).
