65,400 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 65,400 bed nights (+48.9 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Päijät-Häme in May 2022. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 78 % and non-registered 22 %.
Between January and May, the number of paid bed nights was 257,000 (+45.0 %). Share of registered was 76 % and non-registered 24 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Registered bed nights increased 87 percent
In May 2022, 50,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Päijät-Häme (+87.1 %), of which 46,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 79 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 280 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 87 percent from last year's May.
27,800 nights (+53.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 23,000 nights (+154.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 178,000 registered bed nights (+81.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 16,900 (+100.5 %) for foreigners in Päijät-Häme, in total 195,000 (+82.6 %) registered nights.

Registered bed nights increased 100 percent (Lahti)
In May 2022, 24,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Lahti (+99.8 %), of which 20,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 82 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 430 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 100 percent from last year's May.
5,800 nights (+31.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 18,500 nights (+138.3 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 84,500 registered bed nights (+99.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 14,400 (+102.7 %) for foreigners in Lahti, in total 98,900 (+99.7 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 115 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.9 percent were domestic, and 5.1 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Päijät-Häme on average 1.8 nights (-0.32) and foreigners 3.1 nights (+0.33).

Accommodation sales 3.6 million euro
Total accommodation sales in May were 3.6 million euro (+1.8 million). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 15.7 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 3.0 million euro (+2.0 million) and non-registered sales 568,000 euro (-190,000).
Total January-May sales were 12.9 million euro and they increased 5.0 million euro from the previous year.
