34,700 registered bed nights
In December 2019, 34,700 bed nights were recorded in Päijät-Häme (-5.8 %), of which 30,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,600 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased five percent and foreign bed nights decreased 12 percent. In total, bed nights decreased six percent from last year's December.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (880 nights).
18,700 nights (-1.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 16,000 nights (-10.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 483,000 bed nights (-9.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 101,000 (+11.5 %) for foreigners in Päijät-Häme, in total 585,000 (-6.0 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.
17,000 registered bed nights (Lahti)
In December 2019, 17,000 bed nights were recorded in Lahti (-4.3 %), of which 13,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,300 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased eight percent and foreign bed nights increased 12 percent. In total, bed nights decreased four percent from last year's December.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from China (540 nights).
6,000 nights (-10.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 10,900 nights (-0.3 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 218,000 bed nights (-3.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 71,100 (+19.1 %) for foreigners in Lahti, in total 289,000 (+1.3 %) nights.

19,600 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 11 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 91.1 percent were domestic, and 8.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Päijät-Häme on average 1.7 nights (-0.33) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+0.09).

Accommodation sales 2.3 million euro
Total accommodation sales in December were 2.3 million euro (+208,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 9.5 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 1.7 million euro (-59,700) and non-registered sales 213,000 euro (+51,300).
Total January-December sales were 35.4 million euro and they increased 1.6 million euro from the previous year.
