5,700 registered bed nights

In April 2020, 5,700 bed nights were recorded in Päijät-Häme (-85.8 %), of which 5,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 310 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 85 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 94 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 86 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Latvia (180 nights).

2,600 nights (-88.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,100 nights (-82.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 88,600 bed nights (-34.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 19,700 (-40.9 %) for foreigners in Päijät-Häme, in total 108,000 (-35.9 %) nights.

2,400 registered bed nights (Lahti)

In April 2020, 2,400 bed nights were recorded in Lahti (-88.5 %), of which 2,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 280 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 88 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 92 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 89 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Latvia (180 nights).

290 nights (-97.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,100 nights (-80.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 39,600 bed nights (-43.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 13,300 (-39.6 %) for foreigners in Lahti, in total 52,900 (-42.5 %) nights.

Total of 190,000 bed nights (-88.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 173,000 nights (-85.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 16,800 nights (-95.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Päijät-Häme out of total bed nights was 3.0 % (+0.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.1 % and foreign bed nights 1.8 %.

2,400 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 90 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 97.9 percent were domestic, and 2.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Päijät-Häme on average 2.3 nights (+0.62) and foreigners 6.2 nights (+3.8).

Accommodation sales 639,000 euro

Total accommodation sales in April were 639,000 euro (-1.6 million). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 59.0 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 263,000 euro (-1.6 million) and non-registered sales 377,000 euro (+29,400).

Total January-April sales were 7.6 million euro and they decreased 2.5 million euro from the previous year.
