22,800 registered bed nights

In November 2020, 22,800 bed nights were recorded in Päijät-Häme (-42.0 %), of which 20,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,800 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 41 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 51 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 42 percent from last year's November.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Lithuania (800 nights).

13,600 nights (-22.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 9,200 nights (-57.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 298,000 bed nights (-34.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 29,900 (-69.0 %) for foreigners in Päijät-Häme, in total 328,000 (-40.4 %) nights.

14,000 registered bed nights (Lahti)

In November 2020, 14,000 bed nights were recorded in Lahti (-41.1 %), of which 12,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,000 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 36 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 60 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 41 percent from last year's November.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Lithuania (270 nights).

6,400 nights (-20.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 7,700 nights (-51.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 122,000 bed nights (-40.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 21,400 (-68.4 %) for foreigners in Lahti, in total 144,000 (-47.2 %) nights.

Total of 815,000 bed nights (-47.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 728,000 nights (-34.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 87,200 nights (-80.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Päijät-Häme out of total bed nights was 2.8 % (+0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.7 % and foreign bed nights 3.2 %.

10,400 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 56 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 95.4 percent were domestic, and 4.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Päijät-Häme on average 2.0 nights (+0.43) and foreigners 5.9 nights (+3.3).

Accommodation sales 2.0 million euro

Total accommodation sales in November were 2.0 million euro (-627,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 5.6 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 1.1 million euro (-1.0 million) and non-registered sales 111,000 euro (-20,900).

Total January-November sales were 22.6 million euro and they decreased 10.5 million euro from the previous year.
