Registered bed nights increased 75 percent

In September 2021, 4,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Pajala (+74.6 %), of which 2,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 16 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 430 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 75 percent from last year's September.

1,100 rooms (+98.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,100 rooms (+31.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 18,700 registered bed nights (-8.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,800 (-43.7 %) for foreigners in Pajala, in total 27,600 (-23.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.1 percent

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+24.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 723,000 nights (+65.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Pajala out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

1,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 79 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 67.0 percent were domestic, and 33.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pajala on average 2.1 nights (-0.37) and foreigners 3.2 nights (+0.27).
