3,000 registered bed nights

In June 2020, 3,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Pajala (-41.0 %), of which 2,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 290 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased two percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 88 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 41 percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Finland (89 nights).

390 rooms (-69.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 820 rooms (+35.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 9,400 registered bed nights (-1.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 14,300 (-20.5 %) for foreigners in Pajala, in total 23,800 (-13.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.1 percent

Total of 3.7 million registered bed nights (-48.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (-32.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 257,000 nights (-87.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Pajala out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

840 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 64 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.6 percent were domestic, and 14.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pajala on average 3.8 nights (+1.4) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+0.37).
