Paid bed nights
Registered bed nights increased 15 percent
In June 2019, 5,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Pajala (+14.8 %), of which 2,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 14 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 16 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 15 percent from last year's June.
940 rooms (+31.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 550 rooms (+19.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 9,600 registered bed nights (+24.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 18,000 (+52.7 %) for foreigners in Pajala, in total 27,600 (+41.6 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Length of stay increased four percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. In Pajala, length of stay in June was on average 2.4 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (+4.2 %).
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pajala on average 2.5 nights (+40.0 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+3.9 %).
2,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 49.1 percent were domestic, and 50.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pajala on average 2.5 nights (+0.55) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.52).
