Registered bed nights increased 100 percent
In April 2022, 2,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Pajala (+99.7 %), of which 1,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 14 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 420 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 100 percent from last year's April.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Belgium (850 nights).
840 rooms (+237.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 650 rooms (-0.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and April, 3,900 registered bed nights (+0.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 14,200 (+648.4 %) for foreigners in Pajala, in total 18,100 (+213.5 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 84 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 55.4 percent were domestic, and 44.6 percent were from foreign countries.
