Registered bed nights increased 17 percent
In June 2022, 4,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Pajala (+17.0 %), of which 2,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 10 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 84 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 17 percent from last year's June.
900 rooms (+77.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 970 rooms (+18.4 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 7,400 registered bed nights (-1.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 16,300 (+438.6 %) for foreigners in Pajala, in total 23,700 (+125.0 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 320 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 62.3 percent were domestic, and 37.7 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pajala on average 1.8 nights (-6.6) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-3.1).
