Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 21 percent

In February 2020, 13,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Pelkosenniemi (+20.8 %), of which 11,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 22 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 17 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 21 percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United Kingdom (780 nights).

13,300 nights (+19.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 350 nights (+185.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 18,900 registered bed nights (+10.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,000 (+32.0 %) for foreigners in Pelkosenniemi, in total 23,900 (+14.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.9 million registered bed nights (+7.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.2 million nights (+10.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 611,000 nights (+1.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Pelkosenniemi out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay increased seven percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Pelkosenniemi, length of stay in February was on average 5.3 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+2.0 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Pelkosenniemi on average 5.3 nights (-4.7 %) and foreigners 5.8 nights (+21.6 %).

2,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 13 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 86.2 percent were domestic, and 13.8 percent were from foreign countries.
